1970 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE

This is a REAL Chevelle SS 396/350 with numbers matching L34 engine!

Block casting is 3969854 for a 1970 402 and passenger front cylinder has TO14CTW for a 402-4 L#$ with a TH400. In addition, the partial VIN is shown as well.

3.55 posi rear axle decodes as F0822B. A rebuilt and NOM TH400 transmission is like new and shifts perfectly.

According to the trim tag, it is Finished in correct Fathom Blue with Black vinyl, and has the center console, power top, and more!

The body is exceptionally straight, and a 2-inch felt covered magnet sticks to the whole car. A paint meter shows no signs of bondo/chicken wire/patch panels either. Doors don't drop and shut with a light push. The paint is clean, and free of runs or major blemishes. There may be a small stone chip or scuff somewhere, but nothing I could find to photograph in detail.

Glass is exceptional all the way around, as is the rubber trim/weatherstrip. Wipers, headlights, tail lamps, turn signals, hi/low beams, and even the cowl induction work like they should.

Cragar mags show great and have recent street radials on them to help the car drive great down the road.

Tonneau looks great and all the plastic tabs are intact and functioning great. The seats are free of any rips, tears, seam pulls or issues and look wonderful. Headrests are aftermarket. The passenger side lower seat trim has some scuffed plastic that would need repainted as shown in the 128 photos. Dash is flaw-free and all of the gauges and switchgear work like they should including the clock! Radio finds static, but won't get a channel.

The motor has had some modern upgrades to it over the years like a new carb, ignition system, hi-flow waterpump, and maintenance items. It starts super easy cold or warm, idles cleanly, and sounds great through the full FLOWMASTER exhaust system. Shift into gear and it is ready to go, and the car made the trip from Marco Island to Fort Myers (about 45 miles and 1 hour of freeway and in-town) without ANY issues. Anytime I start it, it's ready to go, and it even has a master battery kill switch if you need to leave it in the garage for a long period.

Modern shocks springs were added and it a more modern feeling ride. Steering is sure tight, and the brakes scrub off speed without jerking the wheel or shuddering. It feels like its 1970 and you're out for a cruise. Chassis is super clean and shows bare metal with no gunk or rustproof spray.
